Success + sparkle: behind the scenes of my summer slowdown

The JOYrney™ isn’t always loud… but it’s always leading somewhere. 😉

Hey Reader, Happy FriYAYYYYYYY!!!!

I’ve been feeling a little ✨SPARKLY✨ this week — but not because of anything particularly flashy.

More because I’ve been sitting with a question:

How do you lead when the work you’re doing goes unseen?

That’s the question I’ve been sitting with lately — especially with all 3 kiddos home for summer break.

This season has slowed me down (whether I planned for it or not 😅), and in that stillness, something beautiful has happened:

I’ve started honoring the quiet wins.

The ones that don’t show up in metrics...
The ones that don’t get applause...
The ones that slowly build momentum, healing, and JOY — behind the scenes.

Truth be told, last week felt like a wash.

But when I paused to reflect?

I realized I’d made more progress than I’d given myself credit for!

✔️ Mapped out a 3-phase strategic growth plan for the JOYrney To Purpose® Podcast
✔️ Reworked my Work-Life JOY Quiz — If you’re curious about your #1 JOY Blocker (and how to break free!) Take the quiz!
✔️ Updated the sales page for The JOY Quest™ (more on that coming soon!)
✔️ Edited a new episode featuring the wise and wonderful Yodit Kifle
✔️ And stayed rooted in my own JOYrney™: scripture study, hydration, movement, and keeping my kids – fed, curious, and cared for.

All of this while embracing a slower rhythm of summer with my family.

I know I say it often, but here’s what I want you to know too:

Stillness, alignment, and rest are also forms of progress.

Whether you’re leading at home, at work, in ministry, or in a season of transition… it all counts.

Your quiet wins matter. So does your JOY.

So I’d love to hear from you — as we’re wrapping up the month of July what’s a quiet win you’re celebrating right now?

Hit reply and let me know (or write it down and claim it for yourself). You deserve it!

While I have your ear – Let’s partner for a JOY-FULL Q4!

The JOYrney To Purpose® Podcast

Speaking of embracing slower seasons — this week’s podcast episode is right on time. I’m joined by my sweet friend Yodit Kifle-Smith, and we’re talking about what it looks like to follow God’s call even when no one’s watching.

If you’ve been in a season of transition, this conversation will bless you.

It drops later this evening at 5PM EST!

So make sure you’re subscribed to the channel, on Spotify, Apple and anywhere else you get your podcasts!

In the meantime, you can listen to past episodes and forward the podcast to a friend who’s been needing a nudge back to herself... wit JOY!

Hey Reader, Happy FriYaaayy! I wanted to share something a little personal with you today. UPATE: I didn’t get the job. (I told you I’d keep you updated!) But here’s the thing: I’m actually celebrating this “no.” When something doesn’t work out the way you planned, it’s so easy to feel discouraged or question your worth. But this experience? It left me feeling incredibly grateful. Here are 4 reasons I’m celebrating this “no”. The JOY of putting myself out there in a new way — and remembering...

Hey Reader, Happy Tuesday! How is your week going so far?! My first full week of being 38 wore me OUT. But in all the best ways possible. 😊 Lol Every year for my birthday I spent time to really reflect. I typically do this as a journal entry – but this year I did it as a LIVE podcast episode. This past year has taught me more than any planner, productivity hack, or hustle ever could. It’s taught me about rest.About abiding.About slowing down enough to hear God’s voice whisper. So for my...
