Look, I’m doing a new thing. How about you?

Reader, Happy New YEARRRRRR! It has been a minute since I’ve chatted with you last, but I hope today’s JOYrney Mail™ inspires you to try something new, do things a little different, and embrace something that you may find a little a little intimidating or unfamiliar!

Let’s dive in! 😬

Hey there Reader,

Have you thought about your vision or theme for 2025?

It took me a while, but I finally landed on mine: SERVE.

At first, I thought, “Haven’t I been serving all along?” But after seeking clarity, the Holy Spirit revealed something simple yet powerful—“Teach and Encourage.”

That revelation hit me. I was ready to pile on new tasks, but God has called me to REST in this season – so I was wondering how this was going to work. In His kindness, The Lord reminded me that serving doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s about using the gifts He has already given, and being willing to show up as a vessel. (S/B: What a reminder to ask instead of assuming, mmkay?!)

This led me to reflect on what and how I should be teaching. And one thing kept coming up: Scripture Study.

Here’s where my new thing comes in…

video preview

I’ve read the entire Bible six times, but I’ve fallen short the past two years—always stopping just before finishing Revelation. This year, I’m committing to finishing strong for the seventh time.

But this time I’m not doing it alone. I’ve asked my children if they’d like to join me in reading the Bible daily, and they said YES! 🥹🤗💃🏾

So with this, I’ve challenged myself to 36 days of waking up at 5:30AM to read my Bible. (Early wake up times have been a struggle for me – yet still remains to be one of my greatest aspirations. Lol). In addition to this, I‘ll be going LIVE on YouTube daily to share my daily Bible study insights.

Now, I won’t lie… I’ve been nervous about this because:

  • I’m not a pastor or seminary student — just a disciple of Jesus.
  • I’ve struggled with tech issues (hello, audio and video glitches).
  • No edits. Which means real-life mom moments (crying baby, family in the background, etc).
  • Consistency. Committing to 36 days of daily videos is no joke!

But can I tell you a secret? Truth is, for the past 11 days I’ve been doing the challenge and hiding the videos after going LIVE because of these fears.

However after a nice little pep-talk from my sister over the weekend, I’ve decided to let them go public… (well, kinda.) #LetTheLIVESlive! lol 🙌🏾

Why? Because reading God’s Word lights me up, and I pray it encourages others to prioritize their spiritual well-being too. It’s about creating TIME and space for personal reflection and JOY — accountability helps.

Don’t worry, I’m not leaving my JOYrney™ workshops or coaching behind. But I’m realizing how much my work and life are evolving —as I consider this foundational part of my daily life (anand how it supports my JOY) I’m leaning all the way in.

Now, what about you?

How is your JOYrney, your vision, or your purpose shifting as we move into 2025? Hit reply and let me know. I’d love to hear from you!

The JOYrney™ Ahead

Lastly, I’d really like to do a Corporate Prayer call for the fire happening in California. There is power in UNITY and AGREEMENT. Matthew 18:18-20 says:

18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

I believe that prayer is one of the greatest things we have to offer those impacted by tragedy (next to immediate needed resources such as food, water, and clothing). That said, if you are interested and open to participating in a group prayer and you’d like to come together in faith for those affected, please let me know and we can coordinate a day and time for that to happen.

At the Friends School of Baltimore Campus w/ the fam - May 2025 Happy FriYAYYYYY, Reader! At The Friends School of Baltimore Campus w/ the fam - May 2025 May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Last week the family and I headed down to Baltimore for my 20th high school reunion. Crazy – I know! 🙈 With this, and Mother’s Day just around the corner, I’ve been reflecting a lot on the journey I've been on the past 20 years of becoming a woman, and what emotional wellness looks like — especially for...

Happy FriYAYYYYY! 💎This Week’s #JOYGem 💎 You’re not forgotten. You’re being preparing for something greater than you imagined! Hey Reader, Have you ever felt like you’re doing everything right… but God still hasn’t moved? Same. I know what it’s like to pray, prepare, stay faithful—and still feel like you’re sitting in the waiting room, wondering if your name will ever be called. But in this week’s Bible study, I was reminded of something powerful: Just because God isn’t moving doesn’t mean He...

Your past doesn’t disqualify you — it prepares you Hey Reader, Have you ever felt like parts of your story were too messy to be meaningful? Same here. 🙋🏾♀️ But a couple weeks ago, I was reminded (yet again) that God doesn’t waste anything—especially not the messy parts. You don’t need to be “fully ready” to walk in your purpose. In fact… your transformation is often the very thing that makes you ready. This week on the JOYrney To Purpose® Podcast, we’re looking at Acts 9— where Saul’s radical...
