Hey Reader, From the bottom of my heart – 🥹 Because of your encouragement, prayers, and generosity, we did it! Last week we put together our very first Light & Life Kits… and within 15 minutes they were all gone — I’m talkin’ DUNZO! 😅 Teens, preschoolers, and adults alike received reminders of God’s light and life on October 31st — a day that typically glorifies the opposite. I promised you an update of how it went, so let’s dive in! A Family Project Turned Mission Moment In the week leading up to HOLYween, Arria and Jaiyce were so excited to help pack the bags. As we prayed over each one, we talked about why we were doing this — and why, as children of God, we choose to celebrate the light instead of darkness. Then something amazing happened… throughout the week the idea took on a life of its own! I ended up adding QR codes to each bag linking to a quick page explaining the meaning behind the goodies. My husband Nick (shoutout to Irie Vibes Photobooth!) even brought his booth out so families could capture the JOY of the moment (and their creative fits)! HOLYween Hits Different That evening, we joined friends for a family gathering celebrating the Light and Life of Jesus. We worshipped, danced, ate, and the kids watched the adults perform a play based on a cute children’s book called The Garden, The Curtain, and The Cross. It was pure JOY — the kind that fills your spirit and your belly at the same time. By the end of the night, the kids were loaded up with treats and truth. 🙌🏾 As we were heading home for the night Arria declared: “Next year, we should make THREE TIMES as many kits… and I want to help hand them out on the streets!” They were in school so they weren’t able to join me in passing out the kits, but it looks like we may have a little evangelist in the process of emerging from her shell. 😂 A Seed Planted: Your JOY Can Bear Good Fruit What started as one mom’s way to flip FOMO into faith turned into a reminder of how powerful community and purpose can be. To everyone who prayed, shared kind words, or contributed financially — again thank you. Your partnership helped us plant seeds of light that will continue to grow. It was such a beautiful, JOY-filled day. It reminded me that light always wins. Like our souls, though the Enemy desires much and many to be lost – to God be the glory, through Christ – even things intended to bear roots of darkness and destruction can always still be redeemed! I pray that today’s JOYrney Mail™ message reminds you that the mission field is all around you. Jesus said it best:
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38) Don’t forget: YOU are one of his best laborers. So my question to you today is (okay, well I really have three for you to nibble on 😏):
Hit reply and let me know — I love hearing from you. Your stories always bless me! We’re On the JOYrney™ together…ONE feel-good thing at a time! Hey Reader, heyyyyyy! Happy FriYAY! Today I have a bit of a testimony to share in hopes that it helps you see this season of your JOYrney™ with a new light. Some of you may remember earlier this year when I shared how scared I felt stepping into a new direction — speaking more openly about scripture, faith, motherhood, identity, and JOY. 👆🏾This was my legit feels the day before hitting “publish” on that newsletter and a subsequent LinkedIn post. 🙈 I told you I felt: unqualified (no seminary...
Hey Reader, Over the past few weeks, I’ve been talking a lot about what it means to walk in the light — to live freely in who we’ve been called to be, even when the world celebrates something different. So with Halloween being tomrrow, I’ve been reflecting on what it means to actually be the light — especially as a mom raising little ones in a world that often glorifies the opposite. Because honestly? As much as I enjoy a good opportunity to transform through dressing up, I can’t get behind...
