Hey Reader, I had a moment last year that I haven’t been able to shake. It reminded me why this JOYrney™ work matters — and how deeply we all need JOY right now. But before I share that story,.
What does JOY look like for you right now? (At work, at home… even just in your day-to-day?) Think about that for a second. Whether you're a healthcare provider, a corporate leader, a mother/caregiver, or simply someone navigating big life transitions — burnout is real. And most of the time, we try to power through. But what if JOY is the very thing we’ve been missing? Last year, I asked a room full of healthcare professionals this: “What does JOY look like for you right now?”
The room went silent. But after the event, one woman came up to me and quietly said: “I didn’t realize how long it had been since I felt JOY at work.” That moment hit me hard. In healthcare—and really, in any high-stress space—burnout doesn’t just affect individuals. It affects entire cultures. Long hours, emotional demands, and systemic pressure leave people running on empty. And when caregivers (or leaders, or parents) are depleted, everyone feels it. So, What Can We Do About It? This is why I created the JOYrneyC.A.R.E.™ Framework — a proprietary model that helps organizations and teams infuse JOY into their leadership, operations, and retention strategies. Here’s the breakdown: 🟡 C – Connection: Authentic relationships improve trust, collaboration, and retention. 🟡 A – Awareness: You can’t shift what you’re not aware of. We identify what's draining energy — and why. 🟡 R – Recalibration: It’s not about perfection. It’s about pausing and pivoting with purpose. 🟡 E – Empowerment: When people feel safe, seen, and supported, they show up stronger — and they stay. Whether you're supporting new parents, leading a team, or navigating your own next chapter (of life, parenthood, or love/marriage), JOY isn't just a feel-good idea — it's an effective part of your leadership strategy. 🌱 Lower burnout So again I’ll ask: What does JOY look like for you right now? I’d love to hear your answer. Just hit reply. 💛 On the JOYrney™ together… ONE feel-good thing at a time, The JOYrney To Purpose® Podcast 🎧 The JOYrney To Purpose® Podcast Is BACK — April 4th!I’m thrilled to announce that Season 4 of the JOYrney To Purpose® Podcast returns next week — with a brand-new structure, special guests, and an even deeper focus on helping you live, lead, and love from a place of JOY. At the Friends School of Baltimore Campus w/ the fam - May 2025 Happy FriYAYYYYY, Reader! At The Friends School of Baltimore Campus w/ the fam - May 2025 May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Last week the family and I headed down to Baltimore for my 20th high school reunion. Crazy – I know! 🙈 With this, and Mother’s Day just around the corner, I’ve been reflecting a lot on the journey I've been on the past 20 years of becoming a woman, and what emotional wellness looks like — especially for...
Happy FriYAYYYYY! 💎This Week’s #JOYGem 💎 You’re not forgotten. You’re being preparing for something greater than you imagined! Hey Reader, Have you ever felt like you’re doing everything right… but God still hasn’t moved? Same. I know what it’s like to pray, prepare, stay faithful—and still feel like you’re sitting in the waiting room, wondering if your name will ever be called. But in this week’s Bible study, I was reminded of something powerful: Just because God isn’t moving doesn’t mean He...
Your past doesn’t disqualify you — it prepares you Hey Reader, Have you ever felt like parts of your story were too messy to be meaningful? Same here. 🙋🏾♀️ But a couple weeks ago, I was reminded (yet again) that God doesn’t waste anything—especially not the messy parts. You don’t need to be “fully ready” to walk in your purpose. In fact… your transformation is often the very thing that makes you ready. This week on the JOYrney To Purpose® Podcast, we’re looking at Acts 9— where Saul’s radical...
